16 Blocks is a FREE Bi-Monthly Zine-Alt-Indie Print and Digital Publication celebrating and documenting Art and Culture of the New and Roanoke River Valleys of Southwest Virginia and Beyond.

We moved our base of operations to Roanoke from Blacksburg, and need your Help Grow Print Issue #51 to coming out this February to a magazine deserved of the rich arts and culture of our region.

Growing upon the work of the 41 issue run over five years from 2007-2012, We have produced Nine Print Editions (42-50) since our reLaunch in August 2023.

Ranging from 3-8,000 copies we distribute our FREE PRINT EDITIONS throughout the New and Roanoke River Valleys with focused efforts in Downtown Blacksburg and Roanoke, and the response has been AMAZING!

Independent Journalist and Publisher Hart Fowler ’s Editorial Selection and Creative Director Rita Brame’s Cover and Art Curation has led to the successful reLaunch of the print and digital copy to become a sought-after FREE souvenir for visitors and locals.

16 Blocks is a 501 c3 Non-Profit, and all donations go towards the cost of producing the print copy.

Your donations equal more color and pages for featured articles and art-spreads, allowing us to print more copies to reach readers often underserved by the lack of gathered local media.

Here's the Cover featuring the Aurora Building in downtown Roanoke, home of our new HQ.

We have been using our new space in the Aurora Studio Center to conduct interviews, meet with creative contributors, and look towards having small events there in 2025.

The print copies often outlast the run of the current issue, becoming mementos and keepsakes. We design every page to leave a lasting legacy, and build upon the print stories with Audiovisual Elements on

16Blocks.org and our Social Media Channels.

Our copies leave a lasting impression on our growing readership that includes both those new and familiar to reading print.
