Support Logan Square Mutual Aid
Donation protected
Logan Square Mutual Aid is a community effort started by residents of Logan Square to offer our community attentive support, care, and critical resources. In the midst of this global pandemic and with many facing economic hardship, we feel the best and most effective thing we can do—apart from social distancing—is to be there for our fellow neighbors. Over 100 of your neighbors have already joined the effort to support our community as volunteers. Please donate your money, time or any resources that can help your community through this challenging time.
Logan Square Mutual Aid has a goal of raising $10,000 to provide immediate assistance to our most heavily affected neighbors in Logan Square. Similar to many other neighborhoods, Logan Square has been impacted by the pandemic and subsequent economic consequences of social distancing. We have heard stories from our neighbors who have lost their jobs, have no income and are struggling to buy essentials like groceries, critical medicine and medical supplies. The $3,000 we have raised so far has directly supported 55 people and their families through the purchase of food, basic medical supplies, and household essentials. With the additional funds, we will be able to support another 200 families.
In addition to financial support, the mutual aid network is working to connect community members with existing resources and services to promote long term solidarity efforts. We are also accepting in-kind donations of food, household items, and refrigerators and freezers to store food. Please reach out to [email redacted] to coordinate an in-kind donation.
We are dedicated to standing together while facing these unprecedented times—in solidarity, not charity. For more information on requesting help or signing up to volunteer, please check out our website at https://www.logansquaremutualaid.org/
