Support Lonnie and Nicole's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Lonnie and Nicole met in January of 2017 and got married July 11th of 2020. Nicole and Lonnie were diagnosed with infertility issues in late 2020. They had actually stopped all treatment and had prepared to adopt when they were ready. On February 9th of 2024, they were stunned to find out Nicole was pregnant. After finding out about their “little miracle” nicknamed “Pumpkin”, they decided to move home so that Pumpkin could grow up with their family nearby.

Nicole has a blood clotting disorder so her pregnancy has been deemed “high risk.”

About a week or two before moving to North Carolina, Lonnie thought he had a stomach bug. He sought help via urgent care after settling in. He was then scheduled for a gastroenterologist appointment followed by a colonoscopy. Lonnie and Nicole believed this would be an easy process to diagnose IBD. (June 21st)

The following is a timeline of all of the information we have as of July 1st at 2 pm.

On June 21st, Lonnie went in for a colonoscopy in anticipation for an IBD diagnosis and they were unable to perform the procedure due to a mass they found in the sigmoid colon.

On June 24th, they found out Lonnie has Signet Cell Cancer of the Colon.

On June 26th, they met with his surgeon and scheduled a surgery for July 2nd. (Tomorrow) They also scheduled a CT.

On June 28th, Lonnie had a CT scan to assess spreading and staging.

Today, July 1st, we have been informed that Lonnie has stage 4 cancer. The doctor has abandoned his plan to remove the primary tumor. Now Lonnie will receive a surgery to install an ostomy bag and will be admitted to the hospital. We will then navigate chemotherapy options with our oncologist.

Lonnie and Nicole are managing a lot of issues with their financial situation right now. Their home in Texas still has not sold so they’re carrying two house payments. (They’re currently renting in NC)

Nicole’s high-risk pregnancy medications are a few hundred dollars a month. These are life-saving as she has a history of pulmonary embolisms.

During the move, Lonnie also lost access to his life insurance policies.

Thank you so much for helping us. We have been struggling to manage all financial aspects of this situation and we thank you all for any help and prayers during this time!
