Support Lora's DNC Journey

My name is Lora De La Portilla. This August, I will have the amazing honor of representing Washington State's 6th Congressional District and the Jefferson County Democrats as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. This will be the experience of a lifetime, but I need your help getting there.

The convention will be held from Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22, and will require a 5-night hotel stay. Delegates are required to stay at a designated hotel, so no price shopping is possible. Airfare from Washington to Chicago will also be required, among other related expenses. Delegates have been advised to anticipate approximately $5,000 in costs associated with attending the convention. That's a hefty price tag! With this GoFundMe campaign, I'm asking for your support to help get me to the DNC so that I can cast my delegate vote to nominate Joe Biden as President in the 2024 election.

Here's a little scoop on me:

Until October 2023, I lived in California. There, I was very active with my local Democratic club, where I moved up the ranks from Secretary to Membership Chair, VP, and then President. I led the Cañada Crescenta Democratic Club for more than four years. In 2019, I was honored by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party as the female Democrat of the Year for my Assembly District. I was also appointed for three consecutive terms by Senator Anthony Portantino as a California State delegate. After moving to Washington, I immediately joined the Jefferson County Democrats and the 24th Legislative District Democrats and jumped right in. Within a few months, I was elected as a delegate to the state convention. I have been elected as a Precinct Officer, and I am the appointed District Representative for the Precinct Officers in my region. In May, the 6th Congressional District held its election to select six delegates to the DNC. I am humbled and thrilled to have won one of those seats.
