Support Losan Srimurugan’s Funeral costs and Family

Donation protected

With heavy hearts, we share the tragic loss of our beloved friend, son, and brother, Losan Srimurugan. Born on September 8, 2001, in Puttalam, Sri Lanka, Losan took on responsibilities at an early age as the eldest son in a family facing significant financial difficulties.

After completing his studies as an accountant in Sri Lanka, Losan realized that his earnings could not adequately support his family, including his ailing father, mother, and 12-year-old younger brother. Two years ago, he courageously traveled alone to Belgium, leaving behind his loved ones to seek work and send financial aid back home. Despite being in a foreign country without any relatives, Losan worked tirelessly to support his family.

At just 23 years old, Losan came to Europe full of dreams and aspirations. He was a kind-hearted, helpful, and loving person who deserved all the best in life. Tragically, fate had other plans.

On the night before his passing, Losan confided his girlfriend's parents and his parent about their 10-year’s relationship for the first time. He was looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life and embracing the future. Sadly, that joy was short-lived, and his life was cut tragically short that very same night.

On December 5, 2024, a fire broke out in the house where Losan lived with three others in Antwerp. The building, which was in poor condition, caught fire in the early hours while they were sleeping. While the other residents managed to escape with minor injuries, Losan was found unconscious in the bathroom due to severe smoke inhalation. He was placed in a medically induced coma, but despite the doctors’ best efforts, he passed away on December 9, 2024, after being declared brain dead.

Now, we are faced with the enormous task of giving Losan the dignified farewell he deserves. As it is not feasible to repatriate his body to Sri Lanka, we must organize his funeral in Belgium. Additionally, we want to support his grieving family in Sri Lanka, who are burdened with debts and struggling to cope both emotionally and financially.

The funds raised will be used to cover:

-Funeral costs (including Hindu rituals)
-Transportation expenses
-Financial support for Losan’s family in Sri Lanka to help them manage their debts and rebuild their lives.

We humbly ask for your support to honor Losan’s memory and assist his family during this difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference and means the world to us and his loved ones.

Let us come together to help Losan’s family and show them that they are not alone in their grief.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Note: All donors are welcome to leave messages, and we will provide transparent updates on the progress and allocation of the funds.

In memory of Losan, let us remember his dreams, his love, and the life he worked so hard to build. While his journey ended too soon, his legacy of kindness, love, and determination will forever inspire us.

Update on the Funeral Date:

The exact date of Losan's funeral has now yet been confirmed 19th Dez 2024. His body was transferred from the hospital to the funeral home on December 10, 2024.

Thank you for your patience and support during this difficult time.
