Louise Butherus Support Fund

Louise Butherus is a fantastic mother, wife, sister, and friend. She is trying to stay strong while fighting the greatest battle of her life. In July of 2022, she was diagnosed with HER2 Positive Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. The HER2 gene tends to cause cancer to grow and spread more rapidly. Considering the cancer’s stage and aggressiveness, Louise’s oncologists immediately created a treatment plan that this type of cancer should respond to positively.

Her treatment plan consists of six sessions of the harshest chemotherapy drugs available every three weeks, followed by testing to determine her response to treatment, surgery, and radiation.

Before her cancer diagnosis, Louise was very active in her family and Faith. She worked as a highly successful entrepreneur, but her family always came first. She is a devoted mother to four beautiful children – Matthew, Megan, Lily, and Rafe. Matthew lost his life to a boating accident ten years ago. Despite her grief, she stood strong and committed herself to her family and community. Now she faces another challenge that requires her to pull from the well of strength deep inside once again.

Due to the extreme harshness and severity of the treatment and the immunosuppression it will cause, her oncologist decided a leave of absence from work was necessary. This leave of absence will span the entire length of treatment and recovery time - approximately eight months. In addition to the stress of being diagnosed with cancer and the intense treatment required to beat it, Louise’s family also faces a significant financial burden with her being out of work.

Despite these obstacles, Louise is determined to BEAT CANCER and have a full life after recovery. We all know she has the inner strength to do it; however, this family will need all the love and support they can get during this challenging time.
