Support LSHS Football

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, Football Fans, and Lithia Springs Alumni,

During a recent trip to Georgia for work, I had the opportunity to spend a little extra time with family, particularly, my oldest brother, Scott. As some of you may know, Scott is the head coach for the Lithia Springs football team. While sharing with one another, our conversation quickly turned to a common household theme, and Scott's life passion and work, FOOTBALL. It was during this time that he also expressed many of the financial hardships facing his players and program. The football program at Lithia is self-sufficient, meaning they are responsible for raising the funds to cover their operational costs. The following is just a partial list of some of the expenses faced by the program:

ESSENTIAL EXPENSES (needed yearly):
FIELD CLEANUP: 350.00
GAME SOCKS: 350.00
OFFICIALS: 5,000.00
SECURITY FOR HOME GAMES: 500.00
TRAINER FEE: 1,500.00
BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR GAMES: 3,000.00
FIELD PAINT: 1,800.00
FOOTBALLS (10 @ $60 each): 600.00
RECONDITIONING HELMETS: 5,000.00
MEDICAL SUPPLIES (Tape, Bandages, etc.): 1,500.00
PLAYER PRE GAME MEALS 1,500.00(USUALLY DONTED BY CHURCHES)
FCA CAMP 500.00
FOOTBALL MEDIA GUIDE 2,000.00
BANQUET: 3,000.00

NON-ESSENTIAL EXPENSES (necessary, but program can function without):
DUMMIES/PAD REPLACEMENT 500.00
REPLACEMENT PADS: 1,500.00
(Hip, Knee, Thigh, etc.)
VIDEO EDITING/ RECRUITING SOFTWARE: 800.00
COLLEGE RECRUITING FAIR:
300.00
HELMET DECALS: 600.00
COACHES SHIRTS (10): 500.00
LS PRACTICE SHORT/ T-SHIRT: 1,500.00

Coach Dean's wish is to ultimately update the current LSHS Helmet and jersey to reflect a more modern look, think University of Oregon style!

PRIMARY WISH LIST:
NEW HELMETS (Replace old helmets): 3,000.00
NEW JERSEYS (Home, away, pants): 10,000.00

There are many additional wish list items including Field House, Game Field, and Weight Room upgrades, new bleachers, and more. However, as mentioned above, Coach Dean's primary wish is to update the current uniform and helmets.

As you can see, the expenses to run the football program are quite extensive when seen as a whole. Of course, the players and school have the opportunity to raise money through different fundraisers. However, did you know that the monies acquired at the gate, through entry into games, is NOT given exclusively to the football program. Those funds are used to support the various non-self-sufficient athletic programs, as well. Additionally, a point that really surprised me, the monies received at the main concession stand actually go to the band program which took over its operation about ten years ago. The football program actually runs the small visitors concession stand, so if you attend a game and would like to directly support the football program, please visit the visitor's concession stand.

This fundraising site is the result of the lengthy conversation with Scott and, while the idea to start this fundraising campaign was solely mine, Coach Dean fully supports this opportunity. I understand if there is hesitation to make a donation since there is little assurance that I can provide to prove that the funds will, in fact, go to the program. In reading this, it is my hope that you have a direct connection to me, my family, or another trusted person and can rest assured that every penny raised here (except the 5% that gofundme.com takes) will go to the program. As money is raised, I plan to submit updates via photos, etc. to document donations when funds are given to the program. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding this fundraising endeavor, feel free to contact at any time.

Thank you!
Chris Dean
