Support Lu in her Battle with Cancer

Hello, my name is Dana Donnelly. Together with Zulmira "Mili" Lopes and her daughter, Maria Lopes, we are raising funds for our good friend, Inocencia Luluxa "Lu" Woodbury of Brockton.

Lu is a beautiful soul... her kindness and loving ways are known by all who meet her. She is a single mother who devoted her life to raising her 2 children, and has dedicated over 20 years caring for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. She is very generous and always willing to help others in need.

We are NOW asking others to help her as she fights stage 3 ovarian cancer. She has undergone 2 surgeries and has started her first course of chemotherapy that is expected to run for a minimum of 6 months. This will be followed by radiation and possibly more chemotherapy.

Lu is not afraid of hard work, and has held multiple jobs her whole life. She has received numerous accolades for her dedication. She is most proud of the 23 years she has spent working for the South Shore ARC as a residential counselor caring for individuals with special needs. She was recognized as "Employee of the Year" after only 5 years employed by ARC, and just this month received their "Making a Difference" award.

She has also been recognized for her work in commercial cleaning at Service Master and office cleaning at Harte Hanks. Both companies issued her numerous certificates for a job well done. For years she has also provided residential cleaning services for numerous South Shore families.

Unfortunately her illness prevents her from being able to work at this time. She has mounting medical costs and monthly bills to manage. We are hoping to help relieve some of her financial burden so she can focus on the more important task of beating cancer!
