Support Lucas Chavez in his recovery

In early August, Lucas Chavez was diagnosed with a Germinoma tumor in his brain. He underwent surgery on August 10th while in Florida and has now returned back to the Bay Area for the next steps in his treatment. His treatment will begin with chemotherapy over a 12 week period, followed by radiation therapy that will depend upon how well the tumor responds to the chemo. While this is a serious diagnosis, doctors have assured the family that this is a highly treatable cancer and feel extremely hopeful that the treatment will be success.

Prior to this diagnosis Lucas had plans to play basketball in Panama while his girlfriend Hannah would be teaching in Florida. Now, both Lucas and Hannah will be staying in the Bay Area throughout the course of treatment. This GoFund me will support Lucas and his family to cover living expenses, medical expenses, and treatments outside insurance.

If you live in the Valley, it is more than likely that you have felt the love of the Chavez family. Buck, Susan, and their five amazing children are staples in our community and have shown up for many of us in important ways. Now it’s our turn to return that love…
