Support Lucy and her Fight against ALS
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We're sharing the difficult news that our beloved Lucy, a strong, loving mother/grandmother, has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Lucy has always been the heart of her family—loving, generous, and full of life. Whether it was cooking delicious meals for her children, caring for her family members in Guatemala, or offering smiles to everyone she met. But as of August 2023, she's been facing the unimaginable: a progressive and debilitating disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness, paralysis, and eventually loss of life.
ALS is a devastating diagnosis, and the road has been and will be incredibly challenging for Lucy and all her loved ones. With no known cure and limited treatment options, Lucy's medical needs have grown significantly over the last year and a half. From doctor visits to specialized care, medical equipment, and home modifications, the costs are overwhelming.
We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden on Lucy and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Your donation will go toward:
- Medical expenses: ALS requires specialized care, therapies, medications, and frequent doctor visits that insurance doesn’t always fully cover.
- Home modifications: As the disease progresses, Lucy will need accessibility improvements to her home to ensure her comfort and safety.
- Daily living support: Funds will also be used for in-home care services and assistance with daily tasks.
Lucy has always been a fighter, and now, more than ever, she needs all of us to fight alongside her. Your support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this campaign, will make a world of difference in ensuring that Lucy can live with dignity and comfort during this challenging journey.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will mean the world to Lucy and her family. We thank you deeply for your kindness, love, and support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
