Fire relief for music artist Lucy Schwartz

Lucy Schwartz is a singer/songwriter and artist who lost her home and all of her belongings in the recent wildfires. She is also our dear friend. For those of you who don’t know Lucy personally, she is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and compassionate, funny, creative, talented, humble, generous, loving, magical, special people we know. 

There are so many things that make up a home and a life. For Lucy: she lost her beloved piano which she learned how to play on as a child, and where she wrote nearly all of her songs. She lost mountains of research for a graphic novel she was in the middle of writing. She lost the space where she recorded her music. She lost all of the furniture, clothing and artwork she had collected over the years. She lost all the little things you don’t think about until they’re gone. And most heartbreakingly, she lost her grandfather’s paintings which she treasured beyond words. 

Lucy did not have her own renters insurance, so there is no insurance to cover all of her belongings. Her instrument insurance had also only been partially updated and didn’t cover a significant portion of her instruments. It sadly did not cover her beloved piano. 

Some of you may not know Lucy’s work, but she makes albums, writes songs for film & TV (Twilight, Shrek, Nashville) and she recently created a web series that she acts in, writes, and directs. Lucy is an indie artist who funds all of her musical and artistic work herself. She was in the middle of several projects when the fire hit, and now all of them are either completely on hold or hindered due to the loss. 

Let’s help Lucy recover some of what she’s lost, so she can get back on her feet, and return to doing what she loves: making art, music and stories!
