Help Me Represent GBR at the Adaptive CrossFit Games!
My Journey
I (Lucy) was born with Photophobia Nystagmus, leaving me severely sight-impaired. While this has posed challenges, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My journey has been longer than most, but through perseverance and determination, I have learned to adapt and thrive. Sport has become my outlet, teaching me resilience and the power of adaptation.
Discovering CrossFit
I discovered CrossFit in 2019, training under the incredible guidance of Adam and the team at Artemis Gym. Initially, my focus was on Blind Sailing events, but my passion for CrossFit grew. In 2022, I proudly represented GBR in the CrossFit Open Visually Impaired division, securing 2nd place—a huge achievement! Despite an injury that placed me 8th in 2023, my drive remains unwavering.
A Call for Support
This year, I have competed again in the Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWod the Open and Semi Finals finishing top 10. I aim now with your help to represent GBR at the Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWod in Texas, starting on 19th September. This competition is not just about personal achievement; it’s about inspiring others. I want to show that with belief and determination, anything is possible.
Why Your Support Matters
To compete at this level, I need your support. The funds raised will help cover some of the travel, accommodation, and expenses for myself and my coach, who will be not just my coach but my eyes, both on the competition floor and getting around. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in helping me achieve my dream and inspire others in the visually impaired community to pursue their passions.
Join Me on This Journey
By supporting me, you’re not just helping one athlete; you’re championing inclusive sports and opening doors for others to enjoy and excel in sports, from grassroots to the international stage.
Donate Today and Be Part of This Inspiring Journey!
Thank you for believing in me and supporting inclusive sports.
