Support Lucy Watkins' Fight Against Cancer

Hello, our names are Joy and Shirlee Watkins. Our mother, Lucy Watkins, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Because we are still in the beginning stages of diagnosing and treatment planning we aren't sure what stage she is in. What we do know is that all 3 of her biopsies tested positive for breast cancer and that it has spread to a lymph node in her armpit. The doctor said she needs to see a breast surgeon, however, we cannot afford to. Up until now a wonderful organization called Women Rock has helped fund our mother's cancer journey, however, they cannot help us now as they have no contracts with breast surgeons. Our mother tried looking for other assistance programs, but they all said she made too much to qualify for them.

A remarkable stranger gifted our mother Lucy with an HMO plan with a $9000 insurance deductible. And to this stranger, thank you so incredibly much! However, the next available visit for a doctor on this HMO plan is much further out than we are comfortable waiting. So treatment will be entirely out of pocket for us.

She will be trying to use this HMO plan for any prescriptions and will hopefully be able to get referrals that may work with the HMO plan.
