Support Coach Luis on His Road to Recovery

Hola, soy Luis Eduardo Cotté, periodista y profesor de educación física en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Nací en Venezuela y, tras venir a Argentina a estudiar periodismo, decidí quedarme y hacer de este país mi hogar debido a la difícil situación laboral en mi tierra natal. Con el paso de los años, me radiqué aquí de forma definitiva y me naturalicé como ciudadano argentino.

Hoy me veo en la necesidad de pedir tu ayuda.

El pasado 12 de marzo sufrí un grave accidente de tránsito mientras me dirigía a trabajar en mi moto: un camión me atropelló, causándome fractura de pelvis, desplazamiento de cadera y traumatismos en la vejiga.

A raíz de esto, me colocaron una sonda vesical, ya que no puedo ir al baño de forma convencional. Tampoco puedo movilizarme —ni siquiera en silla de ruedas— y debo permanecer en reposo absoluto, en posición horizontal, durante al menos 2 a 3 meses. Para trasladarme a casa o a mis controles médicos, necesito una ambulancia.

La cirugía ya fue realizada y, afortunadamente, está cubierta. Pero los gastos postquirúrgicos —enfermería, medicamentos, traslados, insumos médicos— son muy altos y, sin poder trabajar, se me hace imposible afrontarlos por mi cuenta.

Por eso, recurro a ustedes. Cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, será inmensamente valioso y agradecido desde el corazón.

Hello, my name is Luis Eduardo Cotté. I’m a journalist and physical education teacher living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I was born in Venezuela and came to Argentina to study journalism. Due to the well-known difficulties in my beloved home country, I decided to stay and build a life here. After many years of working and contributing, I became a naturalized Argentine citizen.

Today, I find myself needing your help.

On March 12th, I was involved in a serious traffic accident while riding my motorcycle to work. I was hit by a truck, which caused a pelvic fracture, hip displacement, and bladder trauma.

Because of these injuries, I now have a vesical catheter and am unable to go to the bathroom normally. I also cannot move — not even in a wheelchair — and must remain in a horizontal position, bedridden, for at least 2 to 3 months. I need to be transported by ambulance to and from the hospital for treatment and checkups.

The surgery I required has already been performed and is thankfully covered. However, the post-surgery costs — nursing care, medical supplies, ambulance transportation, medications — are beyond what I can manage, especially since I am unable to work during this recovery period.

That’s why I’m humbly asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and help me through this difficult time.
