Support Luke's Stroke Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Lucas Dunmire is a 13-year-old fun, caring, kind, energetic, soccer-loving student at Kimpton Middle School in Stow, Ohio. He is the youngest of Todd and Amanda’s four kids. On the evening of January 30, Luke had a stroke that resulted in him being transported by helicopter to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. The doctor was able to remove the clot, and now Luke is on a slow road to recovery. The process to see how his body recovers will take time, and the understanding of the impact of the stroke is still not fully known. Luke has made progress. He is no longer sedated and is breathing on his own; however, he has not yet started talking.
At this time, Amanda and Todd will need to be by Luke’s side, which means Amanda will need to miss work. Making the Dunmire’s situation more complicated, Todd suffered a stroke three months ago, and he has not been cleared to drive or return to work. The outlook for this hospital stay is unknown, and medical bills and expenses will be unthinkable.
We know there are many people that love and want to support the Dunmire Family and the community they live in will embrace them with its goodness, help, love, and support. Let’s help them in this practical way by giving where there is a genuine need. Their worries should not be about money. Let’s stand strong, by their side, give as you are able, and rally with and for Luke.
Whether or not you're able to financially give, we ask for your prayers for a few specific things.
1. For Luke's body & mind to be restored to FULL health & function.
2. For Todd, Amanda, Abby, Ben & Ella to be comforted and filled with peace as they deal with the emotions and all surrounding circumstances.
As friends of the Dunmires for over 25 years, we know they appreciate your generosity, kindness, love, and prayers.
