Hi, I’m Ilayda and I’m fundraising for my business, Lyly’s Parrot Care Services. Now I know that sounds silly. Why would a BUSINESS need donations? Well let me explain…

I launched Lyly’s Parrot Care Services last month as a Nottinghamshire-based pet sitting, boarding and grooming service centred solely around the needs of birds. While my roots were always in voluntary charity work, I longed for a fun way to build my own business and a career centred around my love for birds, which brought us to the birth of my business!

From the beginning, I made it clear that my business would always provide free advice and resources to everyone. I decided to extend this further by offering complimentary services to all vulnerable and lost birds.

Since then, I have received countless messages and requests from people in the East Midlands, who have nowhere else to go for help saving injured birds or rehoming ones they can no longer care for.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been taking in parrots that were found outside and trying to reunite them with their owners. I’ve covered vet bills and medication costs out of pocket for injured pets and have taken in neglected ones myself.

As my business grows, it grows more apparent to me that I can no longer afford to help these animals like I would love to. Firstly, it’s too much work to do as one person, I would ideally love to hire someone to help me out in these cases.

And possibly the most straining of all, between all of the bills, food, toys, perches, medication, specialist products and travel costs, I am spending far more than I am making by taking on every paying client I can.

This is where your help comes in. Donations to Lyly’s Parrot Care Services will not only help me make up for my losses so far, but will support me to continue showing up for the birdies that desperately need help. Any gifts or donations made to my business for this cause will solely be used for it. I have been as transparent as possible on my business and personal social media profiles so far, and will continue to be by showing exactly where and when money I am given is spent.

If you don’t have the funds to chip in, that’s okay, of course. If you could share my fundraiser and help to promote my business instead, that would be appreciated more than you’ll ever know.

Alternatively, if you are interested in donating your time instead, I would love to hear from you. It would be amazing to have a volunteer or two help out with rescue and support cases.
