Support Maddie's Treatment For Chronic Lyme

Hi, my name is Mekenzie and I am fundraising on behalf of my sister Maddie. She is my very best friend and the best person I know. She is an incredible nurse, friend, and human being. If you are able, I ask for you to please donate, share, and pray for her journey.

Maddie has been dealing with severe chronic Lyme disease for 4 years now.

It started with a wide range of symptoms that have continuously gotten worse over the past few years. She has been struggling daily to live a normal life with symptoms such as vertigo, extreme fatigue, constantly feeling off balance, joint pain, rashes, tremors, migraines, panic attacks, anxiety, and brain fog. Her immune system has been compromised and she is constantly sick. Her quality of life has diminished significantly and she has lost the ability to function in everyday life.

Maddie has undergone several treatments in Tennessee and Florida to help manage the severity of her symptoms, but it unfortunately isn't enough to help her.

When Lyme disease goes unnoticed and isn't treated early enough, it continues to get worse and can be absolutely detrimental to the body. In the beginning, she went from doctor to doctor trying to find an answer to the array of symptoms she had been experiencing. She has spent thousands of dollars on holistic medicine, ER visits, and treatments—desperate to find a way to heal herself. Sadly, there hasn't been anything that has helped long term and her condition is continuing to worsen. The standard treatments available in the US haven't been effective for Maddie's case.

Given the rapid worsening of her condition, she will undergo specialized Lyme disease treatment at Klinic St. Georg in Germany. This treatment is unfortunately not offered in the US and none of it will be covered by insurance. The hospital has an extremely high success rate in treating people like Maddie with chronic Lyme and we are so hopeful that it will help her. It is a 30-day inpatient stay with treatments all day, every day. Donations will go directly towards the medical costs for treatment and the travel expenses to and from Germany.

Just by looking at her, you wouldn't know the struggle it was for her to just get out of bed that day or how much pain she is in. She has continued showing up, being a light to her patients at work, being the best aunt, daughter, sister, and friend. It has been heartbreaking to watch her condition worsen over the past few years and seeing how debilitating this disease is for her.

We are so hopeful that Maddie will be able to fully recover and be able to live a healthy life again. This treatment has proven successful and could be life changing for her. We love you Maddie!!!
