In Loving Memory of Mark Alan Maddox, or as many knew him, "Maddog"

Our daddy, Mark "Maddog" Maddox, passed away on January 21st around 5 PM. During this time of sorrow, our family asks for your prayers, but we also want to celebrate and remember the countless good times we shared with him.

He was the most loving person we knew—always showing his love in whatever way he could, even if he didn’t have much to give. Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces, and nothing feels quite right without him. Life will never be the same without him.

To his children, he was a hero—a legend. He was the coolest, most badass guy we knew. He taught us so much: how to shoot guns and arrows, how to fish, how to hunt, how to fix anything, and how to live life fully. He had a way of telling scary stories that made you believe every word. He would scare us so much. He had a laugh that could light up any room and a smile that was contagious.

He was an artist, a musician, and a teacher. He wasn’t just a stagehand; he was part of a community of amazing people that he always spoke so highly of. And yes, he lived life on his own terms—on the edge.

Though his life ended too soon, it was a life well-lived, full of passion and love. His children honestly believed he would live forever—he was that stubborn! But now with a heavy heart and a void in our souls, we say goodbye to our dad.

We just want to honor him in a way he deserves, so we are raising funds to help cover the costs of a memorial service for our father, scheduled for February 22nd at Castle Ridge, which happens to be on the land where our father grew up. However, knowing our dad, we think he would love for us to celebrate his life in places he loved, like Floore’s Country Store, Moody Center, Whitewater Amphitheater, or Frost Bank Center.

Please help us raise funds to honor his legacy and lay him to rest and help get his children to Texas for the memorial. Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated.
