Support Makenzy Lariviere as he Battles Cancer

Hi Everyone,

My name is Andy Dennis and I am an avid long-distance motorcycle rider. On June 26, 2022 I am challenging myself by taking part in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge which begins and ends in the Black Hills of South Dakota. https://hokaheychallenge.com/ This motorcycle challenge is a 10,000 plus mile ride through the United States and is based on the Lakota Sioux principal of WOLAKOTA, the Lakota people’s sacred way of life. The ride must be completed within a specific time frame so I will be riding upwards of 1000 miles a day.

This ride uses step by step paper directions and prohibits the use of technology. The comforts of modern hotels are off limits and we sleep beside our bikes keeping track of the next gas station as no gas cans are allowed.

In the words of James Red Cloud:

“No matter what you are physically…
Male or female, strong or weak, sick or healthy…
All those things matter less than what’s inside of you.
If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior.
What matters most is that you are filled with a deep and powerful presence of life.”

This ride will test fortitude and determination, and force me to face and overcome obstacles along the way. As this ride celebrates all that is pure and powerful in the warrior spirit, I am riding to raise awareness about a young boy who at such a young age, has already proven he is a true warrior in his battle with cancer.

During this ride, I will be raising funds for Makenzy Lariviere. At two years of age, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and has been battling the disease for 12 years. There have been many ups and downs and due to his determination and strength, battled the disease into remission. In 2015, almost 3 years to the day, the cancer reappeared and McKenzy fought it back into remission a second time. The cycle continued and McKenzy is presently receiving treatment at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

Makenzy is a member of the Anishnabek Nation. His mother Wendy, a social worker on their reserve had to leave her job to be with her son in Toronto. My goal is to raise a minimum of $2500.00 to help offset the unforeseen costs the Lariviere family is facing.

McKenzy has shown he has the soul of a warrior, your support will help empower him to keep fighting. Thank you for your generosity in helping make his difficult journey a little easier.
