This is Barbara, co-owner of Malibu Divers. I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but life has a way of humbling us. Today, I’m reaching out for help—not just for myself, but for the heart of a community that has thrived through Malibu Divers for over 50 years.

For over five decades, Malibu Divers has meant much more to the community than just being a “dive shop”. Since 1969, we’ve been a home for ocean lovers, adventurers, career development, and marine advocates. For decades, you’ve learned to dive with us, joined hands during beach clean-ups, or explored the wonders of the underwater world. Many of you are family, not just customers. You’ve been part of something larger—a community united by a deep passion for the ocean.

We’ve trained thousands of divers, from first-timers dipping their toes into the underwater world to professionals chasing their dreams. We’ve taught, guided, and inspired countless people to care for the oceans and protect them for generations to come.

But today...we need your help to keep this dream alive!

Why We Need Your Support

The recent fires—Franklin, Palisades, and Eaton—have severely devastated our local area. Though our shop survived, it’s been a financial and emotional blow to our community. Our store was in the mandatory evacuation zone, and the fires have disrupted our operations, polluted our reefs, and left us without vital income.

We serve a 50+ mile radius of divers, locals, and visitors from all over the world. Now, with beaches closed and waters filled with debris, both our environment and our livelihood are in crisis. The damage affects everyone—our community, employees, partners, and the marine life we’re so passionate about protecting.
