Support Malikk's Journey to Recovery

On September 9th, Malikk was in a terrible accident and was hit by an 18 wheeler truck. He was airlifted to the hospital, where he was intubated and unconscious for several days. Aside from his external injuries, Malikk also suffered a brain bleed and bruised lungs. Miraculously, Malikk is awake and progressing at amazing rates, but struggles with his memory and has a long road to recovery ahead.

Malikk is an exceptional young man who brings joy and positivity to everyone he encounters. He is always looking out for others, offering help and support, and is a true role model to his little siblings and cousins. If you know Malikk, you know he is adored by all - his friends, family, teachers, peers - even his nurses have said he is an ideal patient due to his kind and respectful demeanor in the face of such hardship. Malikk is also a student athlete, receiving many awards awards in high school, including the administrative Guidance Award in recognition of his perseverance and work ethic. He was involved in a mentor program where he supported middle school students who had academic and behavioral needs, and received a college scholarship through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Malikk also has a deep love of animals, rescuing any that cross his path, and has aspirations to become a veterinarian.

Malikk's mother recently passed away, so he lives on his own. Even when he is eventually discharged from the hospital, he will not be able to go immediately back to work. One of his biggest concerns while hospitalized is how he will be able to afford his rent, bills, and medical expenses. This young man is incredibly strong and always willing to lend a helping hand to others. I'm hoping through this GoFundMe, we can raise enough money to help alleviate some of the financial burden he is facing. His grandmothers will be in charge of the money and will ensure his bills are paid with whatever amount is raised.
