Please join us in celebrating the life of Mallik at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, 1800 Eastland Drive, Bloomington, IL, on Thursday, January 2, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mallikarjuna Thondapu, a remarkable man who dedicated his life to both his family and his community. Mallik was not only a loving husband, father, and son but also a passionate advocate for the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019-20. He worked tirelessly to address the challenges of the H1B Green Card backlog, striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
Mallik's courageous four-year battle with leukemia exemplified his resilience and selflessness. He endured multiple rounds of debilitating chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant—with his 12-year-old daughter as the donor—and countless complications. Despite being hospitalized for weeks on end, he continued to work relentlessly, driven by his sense of responsibility and love for his family. He never once sought financial assistance for his treatment, instead relying on his own resources and determination.
Mallik is survived by his loving wife, who herself recently underwent cardiac surgery, their two young school-going daughters 12 and 14 years respectively, and his elderly parents, who live in India. As the sole breadwinner, Mallik carried the weight of supporting his family with unwavering strength. His wife, a woman of incredible courage, stood by his side throughout his illness, instilling resilience in their children even amidst the uncertainty.
Mallik's passing leaves an irreplaceable void—not just in the hearts of his family but also in the community he worked so hard to uplift. Today, his family faces emotional and financial challenges that no family should have to endure alone.
This GoFundMe campaign has been created to honor Mallik's legacy and provide vital support to his family during this difficult time. The funds raised will help cover living expenses and educational costs for his children and provide some stability as they navigate life without their beloved husband, father, and son.
Mallik and his family have always been self-reliant, never asking for help despite their struggles. Today, we invite you to join us in extending a helping hand to a family who has given so much, even in the face of immense hardship. No contribution is too small, and every gesture of support will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion as we honor Mallik's life and legacy. Your support means the world to his family in their journey ahead.
