Sadly, in the early hours of May 30, 2024, the business experienced a devastating setback when a fire ravaged the Lake Chabot Public Market (where Mama Cho's was located), causing catastrophic damage to this cultural hub. Although the business has insurance, the damage is so extensive that the cost of rebuilding far exceeds what current coverage can address.

Now, over 90 days since the fire, Mama Cho’s BBQ is still waiting for any financial relief from the insurance company due to ongoing investigations. This delay has left the business struggling to cover essential expenses. They need your support to keep this beloved business alive and to assist their dedicated staff who have been displaced by this tragedy.
