Mandy Mayhem! The rebellious GenX rapper defying all odds, and making a name for herself in these internet streets ...is making a music video!
AND YOU GET TO BE A PART OF IT! Let's make history together. Everyone who contributes more than $100 will have their name hidden in the video as an easter egg, I wonder where YOUR name will be.. will it be on a billboard? will it be on a teeshirt? will it be on a tattoo? will it be shaved into the back of my head? ;) AND, anyone who contributes more than $1000 as a foundational supporter will have a cameo in the video! *
And people will see this video... in only two years, Mandy has amassed over 40M views on her videos, and caught the attention of legendary rappers including Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane, DMC and 50 Cent.
Mandy is currently finishing her album with Public Enemy founding member, and prolific platinum, Grammy nominated, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Keith Shocklee.
Their first release, Never Too Late, is now streaming on all platforms.
The video will be for their next single from the album called Beaver Trap!
Beaver Trap is about a special Canadian Beaver that is also a trap. It belongs to Mandy Mayhem!
It's a tongue in cheek braggadocious extravaganza and exemplifies joy in hip hop.
Mandy is currently in Toronto and, with your help, she will reunite with the director of photography Carl Elster who shot her stunning video Crave, back in 2014. Watch it below!
Mandy's experience as a filmmaker who cut her teeth in the Toronto Indie film scene means she has access to extraordinarily talented crew in the city.
The video will be her signature style of pinup hip hop meets true Canadiana, with scenes throughout iconic spots in the city.
Below is a mood board for the video (picture Canadian dollars lol):
Thank you for your incredible support Team Mayhem, you are changing the way the world sees aging and helping to prove that it's Never Too Late to be who you may(hem) have been!
*foundational supporters at the $1000 amount will have to get yourself to Toronto to be in the video. WE MAY consider some taped cameo submissions but they will be subject to creative appoval.
