Support Mandy's Skills Lab for Independence

Hi, my name is Mandy and I am fundraising for my new classroom! I've been given the opportunity to teach in a newly created special education classroom. This group of high school students will be learning and practicing skills that will help prepare them to transition into a fulfilling adulthood.

GRAND VISION: to create a classroom that serves as a Skills Lab focusing on increasing the independence of students with disabilities. Areas we will be studying:

1. Functional Academics (financial literacy, reading comprehension, and writing)

2. Community Skills

3. Household Skills

4. Communication Skills

5. Physical Health

6. Social-Emotional Health

7. Vocational Skills (i.e. job search,

If you've ever seen a government-funded classroom, you know that they are essentially empty. We have big goals to achieve, and we need your help!

With the funds raised, I have plans to purchase items that can be used for hands-on experiences in all areas. (i.e. clothing racks for hanging, sorting, etc. vacuums, brooms, common household items, and tools). We will also be purchasing items to start a class coffee shop to introduce entrepreneurship and practice various skills needed for independence.
