Support Mankato West Hockey After Stick Theft
Donation protected
UPDATE - 12/30/2024, 9:00 pm: As of today, the donations received from this campaign were distributed to the varsity team players, and each player was able to purchase (1) replacement stick each. Thank you to all donors, as well as Mankato Play It Again Sports for offering the players a discounted price on each stick purchased. As of late, the Duluth Police Department has recovered the majority of the stolen sticks. The condition of the sticks still remains unclear, and due to the value of the sticks they are currently being held as evidence in the felony-charged case. We are hopeful the sticks will be returned to the players soon. The outpouring of support for the players is inspiring, and we thank everyone who donated. Thank you for supporting the varsity players and the spirit of hockey.

On Saturday, December 28th, Mankato West Hockey fell victim to bad actors who stole the player’s hockey sticks from their bus overnight. This resulted in their game with Anoka being postponed during the Heritage Hockey Classic in Duluth.
As members of the hockey community, we would like to assist Patsy King, team Captain parent, and our fellow hockey players with replacing their sticks. For those unfamiliar with hockey expenses, a quality hockey stick can range in costs starting $250-450/stick, with most players carrying 2 each. All funds associated with this campaign will support getting sticks back into the hands of the players with anything above our asking goal will go towards supporting Mankato’s High School Hockey program and its athletes.
