Support Marcus' Battle Against Stage 3 Lymphoma

First and foremost, we want to thank our family, friends and everyone who has surrounded us with prayers and well wishes. We are forever grateful! Our strong and amazing 16-year-old son, Marcus Romeo Torres, is going through the hardest battle he'll likely ever have to fight, Cancer!

We took our son to an urgent care on May 28, 2024, as he was complaining of abdominal pain. However, it was obvious he was in distress because of his rapid breathing. He had also been sick with symptoms of a cold two weeks before this, and we were becoming very concerned about his rapid weight loss. As parents, we never want to think of the worst, so we took him in assuming we'd be dismissed with a stomach bug and medication. However, it became very serious the moment we were told that his CT scan results were not normal, and we were quickly transferred to Edinburg Children's Hospital. The doctors there continued to voice their concerns and informed us that he had fluid around his lungs and abdomen, along with questionable and concerning masses in his chest, his left lung, and also in his abdomen. The EH doctor contacted other local Drs to assist with a diagnosis, but it was evident that they had no answers, yet his labs and scans were indicating the severity of his condition. It was quickly decided that the best thing to do to save our son was to emergency transport my son to the Children's Hospital in San Antonio. Our son was transported via helicopter the following morning! After two long days of countless lab work, more CT scans, X-rays, and so many unanswered questions from even the expert and experienced oncologists here, we were finally given the dreadful news. Marcus had been diagnosed with an aggressive and rare blood cancer, Stage 3 Lymphoma, and without quick medical intervention of chemotherapy, our son, as doctors informed, would likely perish. But let me say this loud and proud and with all the faith we have always had, God is all might and glorious! There is a cure for our son! However, as you all may know, chemotherapy and medical expenses that are needed to save our son are very, very expensive! With that said, we are kindly asking our loving family, caring friends, and amazing community for monetary donations to help cover these unexpected expenses.
