Support Maria and Kids After Juan Obando's Tragic Loss

On December 21, 2024, Juan was involved in a devastating fatal accident. Needless to say, we are all in disbelief.

Juan had the kindest soul—he was truly special. He had a way of making everyone feel heard, loved and cherished. Growing up, he shaped our lives in ways we’ll always be grateful for. He was the first in our family to attend a gifted high school (Bronx Science) and the first to go to college in the U.S. (Syracuse University) paving the way for us to dream bigger and achieve more.

Juan was taken far too soon, leaving behind his wife Maria and his four beautiful children, Marcus, 21, Matias, 15, Lucia, 13, and Daniela, 10. Juan was looking forward to the holidays. He set up a beautiful Christmas tree, tracked down the Elf on the shelf, purchased all the gifts and was planning a special surprise for his wife. Juan was at the center of all family gatherings, bringing the family together by hosting memorable reunions.

The family of Juan and Maria know that Maria has a long and difficult journey ahead of her, as she grieves the loss of her love and raises their four children. We are hoping to raise money to assist Maria with the expenses of the funeral, home, bills, and the needs of her children. All donations will go directly to the beneficiary-Maria Gomez (Juan's wife). Those close to the family know how much love and support Juan and Maria have extended to their communities and those around them. We would love to show Maria how much her family means to us.
