Support Maria Through Her Fight Against Cancer

My sweet and loving thirty-four-year-old sister Maria was recently diagnosed with triple negative stage 2 breast cancer. She also tested positive for the BRACA gene mutation, which means she is at a higher risk of breast cancer recurrence as well as a risk for ovarian cancer. The news of her diagnosis has been devastating to say the least.

As she begins to prepare for treatment, I wanted to open up this avenue on her behalf for anyone that feels called to support her on this difficult journey ahead.

She will have to undergo an aggressive treatment plan that will include 25 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries (including but not limited to a double mastectomy), radiation, and recovery time. If all goes well, the entire treatment plan will still take more than a year for her to complete.

In addition to the emotional and physical toil she will have to endure, she will also suffer financial hardships as a result of her diagnosis. While she will do her best to miss as little time as possible with her students at Maple Elementary, it's likely she will need to take extended breaks from work during this process due to her aggressive treatment plan. She will also incur other costs, including significant out of pocket costs under her medical insurance, compounding the financial strain.

I'm asking if you can please help my sister get through the most difficult time of her life. Thinking about what she will go through breaks my heart. I'm hoping to at least ease some of the financial burden and stress that comes with it. Any size donation is welcome and appreciated.

All funds raised will be gifted directly to Maria for her cancer treatment. Let's come together to help Maria beat cancer and ease the financial hardships that come from a cancer diagnosis!
