Support Maria's Final Journey Home

Hi, my name is Daija. I'm one of the 18 grandchildren of the incomparable Maria Fuentes, aka Mami Maria, aka La Chona, whom unfortunately passed away on April 22nd, 2024 at the age of 69 years old unexpectedly due to complications of cardiac arrest. Maria was an incredible woman, caregiver, interior designer, literal "life of the party", a grandmother, & a mother to four amazing children. Christina, Theresa, Moses and Mario. My grandmother made it her duty to keep all of her children and grandchildren close, to love one another with all the love and kindness she passed down to us. She opened her home and took others under her wing and cared for them with no hesitation. I am creating this gofundme, in order to gather the funds to be able to have her service in Tampa, Florida and buried next to her mother Isabella Aponte and my oldest sister Isabel. In order for this to come in to fruition, we our trying to collect $10,000. It is $2,100 for the cemetery spot $2,800 to be able to send her to Tampa, and $4,500 for the funeral.
