Hi!

My name is Marisa and if you know me personally, you know that I am a dreamer. I have been an entrepreneur for 5 years now. Throughout this journey, I have met wonderful people and came up with this new venture, Pocketful of Daisies. Pocketful of Daisies will be a brick-and-mortar children's toy store located in Gahanna, Ohio. It will offer a diverse selection of unique toys, accessories, and books for ages newborn to seventeen. The products will have a sustainable approach and won't be something that you can find in a bigger retail store. I found the most perfect spot for this store in the Creekside area. My vision for the store is to be a place where the moment someone walks in, they instantly feel welcomed and excited. The design ideas I have include a treelike shelving unit, railroad train along the ceiling, and bright colors throughout the store. I plan to host monthly workshops for different age groups to bring children and teenagers together. I will incorporate my dream dough (play dough) business by putting in a "Create Your Own Dream Dough" area. Here in Gahanna, there is nothing like this.

I have met with the mayor, the economic development administrator, board members, and local business owners in the area to get their stories and opinions. I received positive feedback from everyone, including locals, parents, and neighbors. Everyone I spoke to has said that I need to make this happen.

I started this GoFundMe and sharing it in the hopes to raise enough money to turn this dream of mine into a reality. We are on somewhat of a time crunch to lease the space and renovate it to open next year. The funds will go towards securing the lease, designing the store, and inventory. I have a business plan if anyone would like to see it. I will also include a rough draft of the floor plan and inspo pictures. Thank you all so much!
