Help Marissa while she Battles Ovarian Cancer
11/15/24 update: I have been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Any donations will be used to relieve financial stress, medical bills, cost to travel back and forth to my oncologist, etc during this time as I am out of work for surgery and recovery.
I’m Marissa Felter, a devoted mom to a wonderful 10-year-old boy and a spirited 7-year-old girl. I’m reaching out to share my story and ask for your support as my family navigates an incredibly challenging time.
On October 10th, 2024, I visited my primary care doctor with what I thought were symptoms of a bladder infection. After several examinations and tests, I was diagnosed with severe constipation, which led to weeks of unsuccessful treatments. Eventually, I found myself in the emergency room, where I received devastating news: I have a tumor the size of a 25-week fetus on my right ovary, which is causing significant pain and complications. My oncologist has moved quickly to schedule surgery on November 15th in Allentown, where I will be hospitalized for four days followed by a minimum of four weeks of recovery. This means I will be unable to work during this time, and I’ll need around-the-clock care afterward due to the extensive surgery required. Anyone who knows me understands that asking for help is not easy for me. I’ve always been the person who figures things out on my own. But this situation is beyond what I can handle alone, and I am humbly reaching out to you for support. Your generous donations will help cover essential expenses such as rent, household bills, and medical costs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering helping my family. Your kindness and support mean the world to us during this challenging time.
