“I posted the following on my wife's page and sharing it on my site.
From Mark Crosland (Husband):
To the community of Luci Cromwell Crosland,
It is with a world ending, heavy heart that I must share the news of the death of my beautiful, loving wife Lucinda.
She died Wednesday, December 4th, 12:41am at home with her brother Greg and I sitting bedside.
She made it 3 years avoiding Covid. It finally caught up to her in June 2023. Luci has lived a life of challenges and Covid ended up being yet another that she could tuck away, coming out on the other side. In truth, it was only the start to a year and half long worth of challenges. During that time she alternated between lengthy hospital stays and shorter times at home. Her last escape from the hospital in September of this year included care from a great staff of at home hospice. She had 2 wishes as she neared the end; Be at home with family and her cats. Second, not to die alone. Her brother and I kept vigil, bedside, playing her favorite songs, over the coarse of her last 4 hours.
She was able to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family. She made it past her birthday on the 2nd of December. She lived a short, full life, enjoying the simple wonders. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She loved adventuring to a number of vacation spots. She loved singing in her church choir. She gained a passion for cooking over the past 13 years. She took comfort in creating a loving home environment.
Her family and friends know how much she loved the relationship you created with her. She cherished the dedicated nurses who filled her life with joy at st Luke’s. The friendships extend far into the bonds she created with all of her Facebook community.
Hold tight to the light she shared and then share that pure love with everyone you meet in your life. Her name Lucinda actually means Bringer of Light. Luci embraced it and Lived it!
Her celebration of Life will take place on December 20th in her home region of Milwaukee. I will post a link to her funeral announcement, including visitation and service details as soon as it becomes available.
Much love to all who had their life touched by her beautiful soul.
Mark”
Visitation on Friday, December 20, 2024 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 8661 N 76th Place, Milwaukee from 11 AM until the time of eulogy at 12:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM.
The hope for this fund is to help Mark and family and friends of Lucinda with additional costs for celebration of life expenses. Thank you for your contribution!
