Support Mark Estrada's Fight Against Cancer

Hello everyone. We are organizing this fundraiser with grief-stricken hearts for the Estrada family.

For the past few years Mark Estrada has been battling an extremely rare, excruciatingly painful, and aggressive form of cancer called Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS).

As a teenager Mark complained numerous times about pain in his femur. Unfortunately, every time he went to the doctor to get this pain checked the tests done did not show any irregularities and he was sent home with pain medication and another diagnosis due to pain.

By the time Doctor’s decided to do an MRI, what started as pain and a small lump on his right femur now turned into a cancer diagnosis at the young age of 23. To make matters worse it also metastasized to his lungs.

Since then, he has been undergoing an intense treatment that has caused a big impact on his overall health. He has been in and out of urgent care and the emergency room with viruses and bacterial infections.

His parents, Mario and Elvia Estrada, have been by his side every step of the way.

Mark is currently in the hospital, where he has been for over a month now, in severe pain. Doctors have now diagnosed his pain as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). This is one of the world’s most painful conditions. He is bedridden and has lost all mobility on one of his legs. The only way he can be moved is in a wheelchair. Doctors have been doing their best to manage his pain and continue running many tests.

Throughout all of this, Mark has been exhausted and weak but remains in good spirits and continues to fight this disease one day at a time.

Our wish is to create some financial relief not just for the immediate future, but also to alleviate some financial strain throughout his years of treatment. We want to create an environment which allows the family to focus their time and attention on Mark. Additionally, to help with some of the expenses they are currently incurring and have incurred during his treatment, including travel expenses, hotel accommodations, medical bills, etc.

Their zest for life is something we all love about them and even in these dark days they remain hopeful and continue praying for little miracles on this life-altering journey.
