Support Mark’s Road to Recovery A Journey Interrupted

Hello, My name is Wayne Bosley and I’m starting this with the intent of supporting a friend and fellow member of SoCal Bajas, Mark Girdner.

In the heart of adventure, where the open road stretches endlessly and the spirit of exploration knows no bounds, Mark Girdner & Mike Adams embarked on a monumental quest: to traverse the TransAmerica Trail across the United States and back in Baja Bugs. With determination as their compass and the thrill of the unknown as fuel, They set out on this journey of a lifetime.

However, fate had other plans. Just 1450 miles shy of completing his epic odyssey, tragedy struck. Mark's vehicle veered off a cliff, plunging into the icy waters of a Lee creek Damn in Arkansas. In those terrifying moments, Mark fought for his life against all odds, emerging battered but resilient, his spirit shaken but unbroken.

Yet, the aftermath of such a catastrophic accident leaves deep scars, both physical and financial. Mark now faces a mountain of medical expenses & recovery, alongside the daunting task of retrieving his inoperable vehicle and returning home with the assistance of one of our own traveling from California with a truck and trailer to retrieve him & the car.

But in the true spirit of camaraderie and compassion that defines the off-road community, we stand together to support one of our own. Throughout Mark & Mike’s journey, countless members of the VW community and off-road enthusiasts coast to coast have followed his adventures from afar, rooting for his success and sharing in their triumphs. Now, as Mark faces this unexpected setback, it's our turn to rally behind him, offering not only financial assistance but also our unwavering love and solidarity.
