Support Mark Spain's Battle with Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
We lost a staple in the Central Virginia community on Wednesday, December 18th. Mark Spain died after a battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Doctors diagnosed Mark right around Thanksgiving 2024. He began chemo on 12-13-24 with his family by his side at Centra.
Mark has had a significant impact in the last 10 years in our area. He has been on your TVs for the last decade on ABC 13. So many have reached out asking how they can help. Here at ABC 13 News we are creating this page to give you a chance to do that. Mark has three children along with his beautifully strong wife, Lynita.
"Our family along with the city of Lynchburg lost a man of hope, someone who loves his city and stood for equality, treating others with respect and kindness," she said. "He was a husband, father, brother, friend and a positive light in the community. My first true love. He brought so much joy, compassion, love and strength into our lives, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him,” Lynita said.
Money raised here will help the Spain’s pay for things they may need as they navigate life now without Mark.
Thank you for supporting Mark and his family during this time. #SpainStrong
