Support Mark Wysocki's Cancer Battle

Dear Friends and Family

Mark Chovan, Carl Clark and I, Ria Morey are starting a GoFundMe for our dear friends, Mark & Joni Wysocki.

Mark was diagnosed Sept. 2, 2022, with Stage III Invasive Basaloid Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck. With a Feeding Tube placed, Mark underwent 7 weeks of concurrent Chemo and Radiation, completing treatments early December. In Feb 2023 Mark had neck dissection surgery, removing nine lymph nodes and his jugular vein from the left side of his neck. His loyal wife was by his side at every appointment. These aggressive treatments caused Mark to lose 70 lbs., he needs continual therapy for his throat due to swallowing difficulty, and esophageal dilation procedures every 5-6 weeks to help stretch that area to increase swallowing ability.

Mark was told he was cancer free end of March.

We can attest that during that entire 7-month period (Sept to March) Mark never complained, always smiled, made sure no one worried by saying “I’m feeling great”. He had unwavering faith, positivity, and credence to beat this disease. He was that team you loved to cheer for, whether you knew him or not.

June 2023 Mark was informed his cancer spread to his lungs and a femur bone. He now has Stage IV Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma and has started Immunotherapy to hopefully stop the current growth and spreading. With this diagnosis Mark’s been advised to stop working and start doing “Bucket List” things while he is still able. Mark loved his job and worked for a wonderful company for many years. Making the decision to leave his work was one of the hardest things he’s ever done. His last day, September 1st.

Mark & Joni are truly remarkable people. They have unconditional love for all friends and family. They are those friends who make a 19-hr. car ride after one phone call. He’s that person who hides a Thank-You card under the hospital blanket before a procedure for the surgeon to find. She’s that person who cries every time when you leave after visiting. Angels in disguise.

No matter how one plans, absolutely No One can prepare for this unavoidable medical financial strain.

Help us to help Mark focus solely on his treatments, staying positive and doing the things he’s always wanted to do.

My sister once said, “Everyone needs a Mark Wysocki in their life”. For those of you who know and love him, we know you feel the same.
