Support Farmer Mark's Stroke Recovery

I don’t like asking for help— but this isn’t for me. My grandson-in-law (you may know him as Farmer Mark) suffered a Brain Bleed Stroke on Friday, August 30, and our family is calling on our network of friends to help him, his wife Libby, and their 18-month-old daughter with their medical expenses, travel expenses, and loss of income.

Mark was air-lifted to Iowa City, where a team of specialists did immediate surgery to save his life by reducing the pressure in his brain. There was a second surgery that gave the family more hope than the original prognosis. And there is at least one, maybe two more surgeries in his future.

Mark is in ICU at UIHC for now. After that, he is looking at 12-18 months of recovery and therapy.

If you know Mark, you know his passion and dedication is a strength not often seen in a young man. If anyone can overcome these obstacles, it's Mark.

Libby is determined to be there for Mark as much as humanly possible. That means a mountain of medical expenses during his rehabilitation and recovery, travel expenses for the many, many trips to Iowa City in their future, including food, lodging, child care, and all the daily expenses to keep their little farm rolling.
