Supporting Marques “The Dancing Cowboy” Morrison's Legacy

Hi. I’m Danny Morrison, brother of Marques Morrison. Some of you may know him as Priest. Others may know him as “The Dancing Cowboy.” We just simply knew him as an “Angel on Earth.”

As many of you already know, we lost Marques on June 30, 2024. And while more details continue to trickle out to the Morrison Family about the where, why, and how this tragedy took place, we are simultaneously in the midst of laying our dear Marques to rest.

Many of you have reached out to us asking about memorial services. You’ve also inquired about a vigil/public gathering to share how Priest impacted your lives. Many of you have also recommended constructing a shrine for “The Dancing Cowboy” on Stockdale & California.

We love you.

We hear you.

And here’s what we are going to do…

The Morrison Family has been in contact with Mayor Karen Goh, the City Manager, Little Ceasars Pizza, and others to create a memorial triumvirate that will do Marques proud.

1. An intimate and private ceremony with the entirety of the Morrison/Andrews Family to share stories and comfort one another during this troubled time.

2. A public celebratory gathering on the Corner of Stockdale & California (sponsored by Little Ceasars Pizza and other sponsors) which will allow community members to publicly share the mic while giving thanks to Marques for his years of community service.

3. A Plaque Dedication Ceremony (on the same day as “The Celebration”) which will crystallize the legacy of Marques “The Dancing Cowboy” Morrison with a plaque embedded onto the Corner of Stockdale & California (official placement location still pending).

And we need the community’s help.

We hope to have the celebratory event on/around August 2nd, 2024.

And we will keep the community informed on these events as time progresses.
