Support Martha & her family! ❤️
Donation protected
UPDATE (July 3): Thank you so much for all the support to Martha and her family. As as an update, the judge has ruled that a notice should have been given prior to the eviction case starting, which means we will be preparing for trial. The trial date is still to be determined. We will pause on eviction defense, but the money will still go towards supporting Martha and her daughters during this time!
All donations will support Martha and her daughters with eviction defense materials, basic needs such as food, temporary housing, and more as they organize to fight this eviction.
It’s up to us, TOGETHER - AS PEOPLE UNITED - to defend ourselves against the capitalists who make millions and millions of dollars off our suffering.
Please share with friends and family widely.
We will need rapid mobilization, as many people as possible to come out and help defend against eviction. Please follow our telegram channel to stay updated, and be ready to show up!

About Martha & Reclaiming our Homes:
Martha is a grad student at CSULA, a member of Reclaiming our Homes and J-Town Action & Solidarity and an incredible mother of two remarkable daughters.
At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Martha & the Reclaimers took over empty houses owned by the California Department of Transportation, or CalTrans. These houses in El Sereno stood empty and unused for decades until the Reclaimers reclaimed them for their families and community, and made them homes. Martha and her family are now currently facing an eviction facilitated by HACLA, a city program whose duties are to house people and prevent homelessness.
While it's clear that leadership at CalTrans and HACLA prioritize profit from real estate developers over people like Martha & her family, the community is here to show our unwavering support through this difficult time.
Housing is a human right!
