Support Martin Roney in His Time of Loss

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” -Matthew 5:4

On the morning of Monday, November 18, 2024, an accidental shooting in Semmes off Moffett road tragically took the life of Emily Roney, age 40. Emily is survived by her husband Martin Roney.

Emily was very kind, quiet, funny, she loved all her animals, including a new snake Martin just got her for her birthday last month named Linguini, and all of her family and church family. Emily was currently eight weeks pregnant when she had passed. They had battled with miscarriages and wanting to start a family for a couple of years and were hopeful that this was finally the start of a family. Martin dreamed of it being a boy and being able to teach him how to play baseball as he has enjoyed doing in his life.

Martin and Emily are members of Georgetown Assembly of God and Martin has served on the security team as well as the softball team for the church. However, he does not have all the funds to properly bury his wife, therefore we are asking donations to help during a very difficult time for our brother in Christ.

Martin has mentioned that he plans on not backing away from his walk with God, that his wife would want him to keep going, and he doesn’t want to question why things happen the way they are he is just trying to trust God that things will be used for good.

We as his church family are trying to help him during this unimaginable loss by helping donate the funds he needs to not only bury his wife but also give him time home to grieve and find a new normal. Any donations would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
