Support Mary's Fight with Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is Melissa & I am fundraising for my friend Mary Burg. In January 2022, my dear friend Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 38!

 

Discovering Mary had breast cancer was tough to process especially knowing the trials she had already endured over the last two years.  In October 2020, Mary had a tire blowout totaling her vehicle (Her very 1st vehicle). In June 2020, Mary had surgery for a torn muscle in her arm. Less than a year in February 2021, Mary had another surgery for a pinched nerve in her elbow, leaving her unable to work for OVER A YEAR!  Come August 2021, Mary was SO happy to go back to work and get back to her normal lifestyle. Things were starting to look up until November 2021, when doctors informed her that she might have breast cancer. After a biopsy, this was confirmed in January 2022. In February 2022, she started chemo.

 

Throughout all of this, Mary has managed to maintain a positive attitude. Her presence in the lives of her friends and family has remained steadfast, attending birthdays, etc. By the grace of God, Mary has experienced no side effects of her treatments aside from hair loss. She is in the final stages of chemo & it looks like the cancer is gone! The next step is surgery in June to remove the calcification lump & make sure the cancer is truly gone; this will determine if radiation is necessary. In the meantime, the doctor bills have rolled in, and while she has insurance, her deductible is $4,500.

 

If anyone has it in their heart to give to this selfless, beautiful soul, I know she would be BEYOND grateful.

 

Those who know Mary know she is very deserving of support. Mary is a very active person, a good & loyal friend, and someone who is very giving of anything she has to offer (time, money, support). I know she helps keep our group of friends strong by making sure we find time to see each other at least twice a year. Reminding us to make plans & of our role in those plans & forcing us to make decisions we’d rather not deal with during the hustle & bustle of things, but in the end, it’s all so worth it. We have built cherished traditions because of Mary & I’m so grateful. Please help this special lady!
