Something for Mary!

Necrotizing Fasciitis, AKA flesh eating bacteria, this is what nightmares are made of!

All we know is Mary had a thorn that got infected, so we took her to the hospital, and they gave her antibiotics on a Friday. Saturday, she became very confused and lethargic. She then fell and hit her head. We then became very alarmed. By the time we got home her ankle had turned purple and she started screaming in pain. Finally, I got her back to the hospital where they admitted her. I started documenting the process with photos. At first the one ankle started turning black then both legs within a few days they transferred her to another hospital where they started treating her in the burn care unit and started treating her with burn cream. It did not help, and the doctors seem to be baffled and unable to treat her properly. They ended up transferring her by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center where they immediately prepared her for surgery. With 1 surgery came 4, each time removing dead skin and bone. She then woke up with no legs. Surgery after surgery her legs became shorter and shorter until they removed her left leg completely to the pelvic and her right leg to thigh. We are currently still going through surgeries and infections. She has about a 2" wide by 4" deep wound straight to the pelvic bone that requires lots of care.

We own a small Landscaping business where Mary would work from mowing lawns to the office paperwork, and now she is unable to even sit on a couch, let alone work in the field. We are in desperate need of a few things to make her life a little bit easier and functional. We need a bed to accommodate her needs as well as a vehicle that will be adequate transportation for her and her now special needs.
