Bring the Masood Family of 8 to Safety

I’m Jessica Wu and I live in NYC. I’m fundraising on behalf of the Masood family of 8 who have been violently displaced from their family home in Northern Gaza, which they learned the occupation bulldozed and destroyed recently in mid August.

The mother, Taghreed or "Toto", and I have been in direct, often daily, contact for the last 6 months. Toto and her husband have 6 lovely children, daughters Menna (18), Rouaa (17), Nawal (15), Jana (13), Lana (9) and their son Muhammad (6). Their father, Eid Jamal was severely injured by bombing in their neighborhood that martyred many of their extended family members. The family has been displaced countless times from one pile of rubble to the next as the occupation continues to bomb Gaza.

The family is suffering from malnutrition and lack of sanitation, as their youngest Muhammad has began developing skin lesions that his weakened immune system cannot fight. The funds raised have been used for daily essentials such as food, personal hygiene, and medicine - all of which's costs have been hugely inflated due to scarcity. The family of 8 has been struggling with these soaring costs as well as constant scarcity of such commodities. They also hope to be able to raise enough funds to travel to safety, despite outrageous fees and currently closed borders.

”I am in Gaza, living under bombardment. I have 5 daughters and a son. My daughters are outstanding students in school, one of them is supposed to submit to high school, but due to the bad conditions of the occupation and the continuous bombing, she was unable to submit it. I do not know what to do. Really, nothing here is suitable for living. I do not know what I will do. For the future of my daughters and my son, I had a very big dream for them because they are outstanding students and they wanted to receive the rest of their studies abroad because of their excellence in their studies. My daughter, who was supposed to receive a high school grade of 93 in the scientific stream, dreamed of studying medicine, and the other one who was a year younger than her also in the scientific stream. The total is 99%. Please help me achieve their dreams. I want to travel abroad for the future of my daughters and son. I really didn't want to put myself in this situation. I do not know where I will receive help to save my daughters’ future. I worked hard to educate them with excellence. I have 5 daughters and I suffered until they reached this excellence. But now I feel as if everything was in vain. Please help me.”

"My father had an operation on his stomach, as shrapnel pierced his stomach and shrapnel in his rib cage. They did not take it out because it was still...they put the barabish (?) in his mouth, nose, and side of his stomach. One of the wounded, one of my cousins, was martyred yesterday. Our hearts our burning, God suffices me, and He is the best disposer of affairs. "

"I am Ruaa, the second daughter. My mother is in the hospital with my father. He was wounded in the chest with shrapnel and in his foot. Two of my cousins ​​were martyred, some of whom were injured, and my uncle was martyred. They were all at the door of the house with a missile, and dozens of martyrs and wounded."
