Below are the details from his Obituary:
Born on October 25, 1976, in Dallas, Texas, Matt was a beacon of love and enthusiasm in the lives of those who knew him. His sudden departure has left a void that will be impossible to fill, yet his legacy endures through his beloved children, family, and the countless lives he touched.
Matt's early life in Dallas set the stage for a man deeply connected to his roots and his community. He was the cherished son of Jeff and Cindy Daniel and Karl Kelso, and a protective brother to Robin Cieszinski. Matt's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his girlfriend, Alisha Caton, and his childhood friend, Mike Cieszinski. His role as a father to Madilyn and Collin Kelso was the one he held most dear, and he embraced every moment with them with unparalleled joy and pride.
Professionally, Matt rose through the ranks to become the CFO of a prominent healthcare company, a role in which he demonstrated not only his business acumen but also his profound commitment to improving the lives of others. His colleagues respected him for his leadership and vision, and those who worked alongside him were inspired by his unwavering dedication and ethical standards.
Beyond his professional achievements, Matt's passions were deeply rooted in his love for sports. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns, and SMU. His enthusiasm for the games was infectious, and it was not uncommon to find him cheering on his teams with the same fervor he applied to every aspect of his life. He also loved his brothers from his fraternity at UTD-Kappa Sigma. Most importantly loved all aspects of life and a good cigar.
Matt's family was the cornerstone of his existence. He was a devoted son, a loving father, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. His relationships with his many nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins were characterized by mutual affection and respect. The memories created with Matt are treasures that will be held close, as each story shared, each moment relived, keeps his spirit alive.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 2:00pm at Reflections-Rest Haven Rockwall Location, with a visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 1:00pm.
