Support Matt Mareno in memory of Paula Spears

This is Kai and Alex writing on behalf of our friend Matt Mareno (fondly known to many of our friends as Matty Moon). With broken hearts we are sharing that on July 11, 2023, Matt’s mom Paula Spears passed away unexpectedly after undergoing surgery. Paula was a bright light to so many and was deeply loved in her community and spent her final days peacefully surrounded by an incredible network of friends and her son, who will miss her dearly.

Matt has been truly touched and overwhelmed by how many people have reached out to ask how they can help, so we’re raising funds to help cover the funeral costs, the celebration of life, and the many other unforeseen expenses that lie ahead (including the cost of travel for Matt to carry out his mom’s final wishes to spread her ashes in England near their family). Our hope is to help lighten the burden by raising these funds to support Matt while he navigates this unexpected loss.

Matt was Paula’s pride and joy - her whole world - and we know that it would bring her comfort to know that Matt was going to be okay.
