Support Matthew and Elly in their Financial Needs
Donation protected
Hey all!
Starting this Gofundme has not been a simple choice as my wife and I have been trying to balance our finances, but unfortunately we’ve found ourselves cut very short as of my recent injuries and surgery.
On June 8, 2024 I suffered a decent fall which resulted in me completely shattering my talus bone and slightly fracturing my calcaneus bone in my left foot. There is a possibility I may also have nerve damage due to the injury.
As a result of the injury I had to have surgery done June 14, 2024 to repair my ankle. As of right now I’m in recovery mode and am completely non-weight bearing for the next 8-10 weeks and then will likely move onto physical therapy.
The worst of this situation is our sudden loss of income due to now being unable to work for the next 3 months, if not longer. To make matters more strenuous, my wife Elly is a full-time doctoral student, so we have absolutely zero income for the next few months. This, of course, has us financially crippled and more stressed than we’ve been in while. This is the main reason we are asking for help financially… we would like to ask for more, but the 5,000 we’re asking for already has us feeling guilty enough for asking of others their hard-earned money.
Elly and I both understand most peoples’ financial situations are incredibly tough right now already, so we do not expect any single person to donate. We know times are tough right now, so we would not and will not hold it against anyone if they choose to not donate. We completely understand.
Finally, we are incredibly grateful for those who do end up deciding to give and words simply cannot suffice in explaining the joy such giving brings us. We love each and every one of our friends and family members who have reached out and already supported us beyond measure.
In these difficult times we remember how good of a God we serve. Certainly, the pain I am currently experiencing is less than ideal, but I am also certain the Lord will use this for something good. No matter what, God is always good and His blessings never cease to overflow our cups with joy.
You are all appreciated, loved, thought of well, and thought of often.
Your grateful friends and family,
Matthew and Elly Dunnahoe
