Support Matthew Dixon's Heart & Liver Transplant Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
We are reaching out today with hopeful hearts and a request for support as Matthew Dixon faces a life-changing challenge. Matthew has been living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart condition he was born with and diagnosed with in 2015. Over the years, he has managed various complications, but overwhelming had been doing fairly well. Recently, a battle with pneumonia has intensified the impacts on his body due to his heart condition and created a chain of events on other organs. The doctors at Atrium's Sanger Heart Institute Heart Failure Team are optimistic that with a heart transplant, Matthew has a strong chance for a healthier, more active future.
As his heart condition has progressed, it has started to affect the function of other vital organs as well, resulting in a dual transplant being necessary — his heart and liver. While Matthew remains strong and determined, this journey will undoubtedly impact his family, both emotionally and financially. Melissa and their children are leaning on the love and support of their amazing community, but this major life event will bring added strain—especially with both parents needing to take time off work during this process.
We are kindly asking for your support for the Dixon family during this time. Any contributions, big or small, will help them cover the costs of things like being out of work for extended periods, grocery delivery, meals for the kids and caregivers, supportive care, medical expenses, expensive post-transplant medications, and other essential needs. Every gift will make a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated.
As they navigate this season of uncertainty, they find strength in the words of Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." They are holding on to their faith that God will provide the strength and resilience needed to face each day, and they know that together, they will get through this.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
