Support Matthew Wolfe's Ongoing Recovery
Donation protected
My nephew's life will forever be altered due to this unforeseen illness. Matthew Wolfe, a Senior at Mt. Si High School has been in the ICU at Seattle Children’s Hospital since December 17th, 2022, when he was found unconscious and seizing in his bedroom in Fall City. He was taken by ambulance and admitted to Seattle Children’s Hospital and has remained in the ICU to this day. Matthew was diagnosed with NORSE FIRES (New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus and Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome) which is a severe and debilitating form of epilepsy. Because of this, he has multiple seizures daily. Matthew had a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) implanted, which is a device to help control the severity of his seizures, of which he has had over 3000 varying in length and strength. Matthew is a bright and happy young man who loved working out with his best friend Skyler, worked hard at The Raging River Café, QFC, Dick’s Sporting Goods and filmed the football games at Mt. Si High School. Matthew had never had a seizure or been sick except for the typical fever once or twice a year.
Please join us by keeping Matthew close to your heart as he faces a long road to recovery. Due to his diagnosis, this will be an exceptionally long recovery for him as his brain learns to find new pathways and he relearns daily functions, the same ones that we all take for granted each day (walking, talking, bathing etc). To assist with the care for Matthew, Tara has been at the hospital 24hrs a day, 5 days a week sleeping in Matthew’s room and relearning how to care for her son, with help from other family members on weekends. While she is on extended medical leave from Snoqualmie Valley School District.
All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Matthew’s current and upcoming medical expenses so the family can be with Matthew as he continues his road to recovery. If you are unable to donate to this campaign, your thoughts and prayers for Matthew’s healing and recovery are greatly appreciated.
We would be grateful if you could share this fundraiser and/or contribute to help Matthew's long road to recovery and being able to come home.
