Rebuilding Maureen's business in Port Antonio
Donation protected
Lets help Maureen rebuild her business and offset a few of her living costs for her family with 7 kids, until this business is built and up and running
Who is Maureen?
Maureen is a fighter and an amazing mother to 7. I met her by chance on a trip to Port Antonio, Jamaica almost 12 years ago. She was gracious, and welcomed me to her home. Her living conditions were far from ideal - roof leaking, a gaping hole in the house floor, and one bed for all the kids to share and sleep in. Unfortunately her phone number did not work and I tried for years to find her again, but 12 years later we met again (photo above from Mar, 2022). Her story has not changed, and although I have helped her and the kids over time with basic needs (food, school supplies) - what we need to do is help her setup her business so she can sustain herself.

Why should we help?
Maureen was hit hard by the pandemic when her jerk chicken food lunches she made were shut down and she went into debt. The funds we raise will help her build a place of business , and a permanent accommodation on a small land gifted by her father (she has moved 6 times already).
How will these contributions be used?
Below is an approximate breakdown expense she will incur or has incurred.
One time expense **immediate**
$500- rake/clean existing land
$4000 - labor cost
$4000 - building supplies, building structure
$1000- debt incurred from Pandemic
6 month expenses
$250 - Electric, gas and water
$250 - Cell phone-for school searches and hw (no Wifi)
$500- Medicine and emergency visits
$1000 - School supplies, textbooks and uniforms for 7 kids
$1000 - Food for family of 9
Future expenses
$1500 - upgraded technology for the kids to do homework

Every dollar counts, so let’s help them reach their goal. I thank you in advance for the time you took to read this and ANY support you can provide Maureen and her family!
